![]() Google initially did not include an option to set a Master Password (for protecting saved passwords) in Chrome. Specifically, it makes the “verified boot” that's built-in to your hardware a little bit more lax, allowing your hardware to run custom (non-Google-signed) images. The very same protection has now landed on Windows as well, and while it is not yet available in the stable version of Chrome, it will be in the near future.
